You know, even stormtroopers need shore leave. And apparently they like to hang out on earth without ever taking their armor off.

TK509 & Me is a buddy movie about a regular joe in stormtrooper armor and his guide to earth, who gets all weepy and sentimental about his pal from outer space. The joke is simple - put a guy in stormtrooper armor in everyday situations with schmaltzy music over the top.

It's a good idea and can illicit a chuckle, but if you are looking for a side splitter this ain't it. But it's fun. The production quality is average to good. The stormtrooper armor is subpar, but kind of adds to the charm of the film.

It's fun to see the softer side of galactic fascism, but if a stormtrooper ever knocks on my door, I'm still going to call 911.
