I believe this film attempts to answer the question, "If a Jedi talks in the forest, and talks, and talks, and talks..." Knight Quest is long on exposition and short on story. I just have to get that off my chest, because otherwise this is a fine piece of filmmaking, but with a tighter script it could be so much better. It's obvious there is a lot of talent working on this film, and the story idea is good, but, in the words of Run DMC, "you talk too much!"
Now for the good stuff. The cinematography is terrific with bold vistas and sweeping shots that are just breathtaking. The effects are eye-popping. They could have subtitled this film "100 Ways to Destroy a TIE Fighter" and I have every suspicion the special effects folks had a few more up their sleeve. The actors are very good, but I could feel them choking on the volume of lines they had. Because of the production quality I bumped this film up a rating, but honestly it's sitting on the bubble between good and mediocre.
This is an ambitious film and definitely worth seeing and I look forward to seeing more from this film-making team.
