If you, like me, are old enough to have lived through the Star Wars craze first hand then you, like me, probably have a soft place in your heart for the techno-pop of the early 80s as well. For those of us of that era Jabba on the Dais is one big musical pun that allows you to tap your toes and laugh yourself crazy at the same time.

If you aren't familiar with Falco's pop hit Rock Me, Amadeus, you can still enjoy this very catchy video. The song is a worthy parody of the original song, even without the great montage of stills, computer graphics, and footage from the original and remastered films. With it, it's a small masterpiece of silliness.

Many films start with a kernel of a good idea but, for one reason or another, can't see it through to completion. Jabba on the Dais started with a simple observation by Matthew Beall and Petch Lucas that the phrases "Rock Me, Amadeus" and "Jabba on the Dais" match both in meter and rhyme. Many people would pause to chuckle and then get back to work, but Beall and Lucas saw this small, simple observation through to hillarious completion.

One more thing. You know those songs that stick in your head and you find yourself humming them for days, even weeks to come? This is one of them. Arguably, two of them. Consider yourself forewarned.
